End of the Road for McLaren Spider in Burlington, Ontario

A $300,000 McLaren Spider was destroyed by a 23 year-old driver after crashing into a power transformer at high speed. A 47-year-old male passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
It was reported that the car had been delivered a week earlier and the driver was impaired, likely voiding any insurance. The driver faces charges including causing bodily harm. The car was registered to an address just a block away from the crash.

The heart of the 641-hp 650-PS is a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-8 mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. The 650S can hit 60 mph in 2.9 seconds but can't stop instantly for dumb drunks.
