Saleen S7

2006 Saleen S7
At RM Sotheby's auction in Detroit, one of the last-ever Saleen S7s crossed the block. Boasting a completely unique chassis clothed in svelte carbon-fiber bodywork, the S7 was developed for racing, with road-going examples constructed for a very few well-heeled customers. Fitted with a mid-mounted 427-cubic inch V-8 engine, it could compete with the world’s fastest and most exclusive supercars, boasting a top speed of 220 mph and a 0–60 mph time of 3.3 seconds.
The Saleen S7s featured a 750 bhp, 427 cu. in. DOHC aluminum V-8 with twin Garrett turbochargers, six-speed manual transaxle and four-wheel fully adjustable independent suspension.
The car also features four-wheel ventilated Brembo disc brakes.
The body of the car was made entirely from carbon fiber and used scoops, spoilers, and other aerodynamic features to create split-channel airflow. At 160 miles per hour (257 km/h), the car creates its own weight in downforce.
Of the 13 S7 Twin Turbos produced for the 2006 model year, the example offered is one of the very last S7s ever built. Finished new in 'Lizstick Red', it has only 300 miles since new.

It brought $ 650,000
